Proposal 36: Removing host's responsibility of setting judges workshop [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: Flat & Street
Submitted on 2016-12-30
Status: Failed on January 13, 2017

Background

This is probably a copy paste from Freestyle chapter. It is the responsibility of the Flatland Director & Chief Judge to select judges. The Chief judge runs the workshop and it's fine if it'S only right before the competition. As we know it's already hard enough to find judges in Flatland. This rule was never respected and I highly doubt it would be in the near future. I think it's best just to remove it.

Proposal

OLD: "10D.6 Judges Workshop

The hosts of the convention must provide for a judge’s workshop at least 24 hours prior to the start of the first competition. A minimum of 3 hours must be set aside, in a classroom or similar environment. If possible, it is strongly recommended to have more than one workshop to accommodate schedules. Variations on this can be approved by the Chief Judge. Workshop schedule(s) must be announced to all judges at least three weeks prior to the start of the competition."

NEW: Remove 10D.6 Judges Workshop entirely.
